Korean Invention Day
This ceremony has been held on May 19 every year since 1957 to commemorate Invention Day. Invention Day is the day when the Great King "Se-jong" of the Chosun Dynasty proclaimed the invention of a rain gauge.
KIPA presents government awards to excellent individual inventors, and the group of inventors. Competition is intended to contribute to the nation's industrial development by creating an atmosphere of invention, actively encouraging excellent inventions, and promoting technological development.
